Your Role:
The Quality Planning Director will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance strategies that ensure the highest standards of quality in all products and processes in FX program. This role will involve leading a team of quality professionals, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations to deliver high-quality vehicles that meet user expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Quality Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality planning strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish quality goals and objectives, ensuring they are integrated into the manufacturing processes.
2. Quality System Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949.
- Ensure continuous improvement of quality systems through audits, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
3. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to establish quality standards and procedures.
- Lead cross-functional teams in quality initiatives and problem-solving efforts related to product and process quality.
4. Quality Planning and Assurance:
- Develop and oversee quality assurance plans, including inspection and testing protocols for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Ensure that quality plans are effectively communicated and executed throughout the production process.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze quality metrics and performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.
- Prepare and present reports on quality performance to senior management, including recommendations for improvement.
6. Training and Development:
- Lead training programs for quality personnel and other stakeholders to promote a quality-focused culture within the organization.
- Mentor and develop quality team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in quality management and assurance.
7. Customer Quality Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and ensure timely resolution of complaints and concerns.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to gather customer insights and integrate them into quality planning processes.
Required skills and qualifications:
· Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ certifications) is preferred.
· Experience:
- More than 15 years of experience in quality management or assurance within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of leading quality improvement initiatives and managing quality teams.
· Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis.
· Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards and regulations, including ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and technologies relevant to the automotive industry.
